Charity of the month...

Our Charity Partners

Every month at every Surrey Farmers Market we have a Charity Tea Tent, with a wonderful array of home made cakes, and biscuits available along with hot and cold drinks. The Tea Tent is hosted by our kind volunteers and all proceeds raised are donated to our named Charity Partner.

This month’s charity is the Milford Hospital League of Friends…. www.milfordhospitalleagueoffriends.com/

Milford Rehabilitation hospital is a specialist establishment for people recovering from or suffering the after effects of stroke.

The League of friends supports the work of the hospital, through hands-on practical work and fund- raising to provide comforts and facilities for patients in order to make their stay in hospital as pleasant as possible.

Formed in 1975, The National Eczema Society has two principle aims; Firstly, to provide people with independent and practical advice about treating and managing eczema; Secondly, to raise awareness of the needs of eczema sufferers with healthcare professionals, teachers and the government.

Currently, there is no cure for eczema. Finding a cure would significantly transform the lives of over 5 million sufferers in the UK, of which 15-20% are school children.

The National Eczema Society supports and funds research into eczema. Because dermatology does not usually attract significant funding, contributions made by the Society create the potential to make a real difference in finding a cure.

We are committed to making life easier for the 1 in 5 children and 1 in 12 adults who suffer from eczema. We rely entirely on general public and company donations to fund our work as well as membership subscriptions.

A registered charity assists disabled people to enjoy greater independence and a better quality of life through the help of specially trained dogs.

So many of us love dogs and want to help them but are not always in a position to be able to have a dog of our own.  But you can give so much help just by donating even a small amount towards the care and upkeep of our rescued dogs while they are waiting for their forever home.  And you can be reassured that every penny donated goes to our dogs – for veterinary care, for kenneling, for whatever they need.

GSDR always has and always will operate a NO DESTRUCTION POLICY because we believe that all dogs deserve a good life. We will find the right home for all the dogs that come into our care no matter how long it takes. German Shepherd Dog Rescue is both a registered charity and company, which produces yearly accounts so that you know where your donated monies are spent.

We have many discarded dogs in kennels waiting for their new homes, some have been in kennels over a year.

We will house them safely until new homes are found but this is no life for a GSD.

Could you foster or adopt one of these poor souls? If not could you sponsor one of them by donating towards their kennel costs until a new home is found? These are our kennel dogs with no home of their own.
